4 Things I Need To Do In My Home This Spring and Summer

There are so many things that I need to do in my home and each spring, I have to prioritize the tasks that I am going to tackle for the year. The reason I start in the spring is because the weather is finally getting nice, so if I have any outdoor home projects to do, it makes it more enjoyable for myself (or for the people that I hire). Out of the many, many home projects that are on my list, these are the ones that I have decided to start on this spring:

Our Garden
Gardening has always been something that I love to do. There is nothing better than making a meal with vegetable that you grew, or showing off your beautiful flowers to guests. Personally, my favorite plants to grow in my garden are vegetables. It feels so great to get something out of your hard work, especially when that something is edible. This year, I plan on planting tomatoes, squash, okra, carrots, and peas – a full feast! Once you have the space, gardening is easy, fun, and can also be tasty!

Ceiling Fan Installations
There are quite a few home projects that I can do myself, but one of the tasks that I need to do this year is install a couple of ceiling fans and I cannot do that myself. I found local Florida company, Heck Electric and they got the job done quickly and affordably! Heck Electric is located in Fleming Island, Florida, and offers electrical services such as panel changes, security system installations, wiring, remodels, additions, and heat detectors, outdoor lighting installations, generator installations, and more. Heck Electric is a locally-owned and operated company, which makes their services personal and professional. All services are done by friendly and helpful technicians and their services are also backed by their 100% satisfaction guarantee.

The reason I hired Heck Electric is because of their professional and knowledgeable technicians. Heck Electrician’s professionals will ensure that every job is installed and updated to the National Electric Code standards, which is very important to me. They are also committed to detail. They focus on completing the installation the right way, the first time around by paying close attention to the fan’s balance, placement, security, noise, and more – safety is their top priority when it comes to all electrical work, including ceiling fan installation services in Fleming Island, FL. Next time you need a ceiling fan installed, I highly recommend reaching out to Heck Electric – they made the process seamless for me!

There is nothing worse than chipped and scuffed up walls, in my opinion. That’s why this spring and/or summer, I am going to focus on tackling all of my rooms and retouching the paint. I have not painted my walls in the longest time, so they are very scuffed up and dirty. One of the things that I learned from the last time my walls were painted is that you need to start with a clean surface before you paint, or you will create an uneven surface after the paint dries. So, that’s what I’m going to start on first – cleaning my walls. Then, I will begin to paint over the next few weeks (or months). Luckily, I’m not in too much of a rush, so I can do it at my own speed! The great thing about paint is that it is an easy way to update your home and it’s also a great way to

increase the value of your home. Although it does not increase the value a lot, it definitely makes your home look a lot more appealing to future home buyers.

New Bedroom Furniture
Have you ever seen those mattress commercials that tell you how often you need to replace your mattress? Well, let’s just say I’m way past due for a replacement on not only my mattress, but all of my bedroom furniture. While bedroom furniture can be expensive, when it comes time to replace yours, it is so exciting and can give your room a whole new look. Checking stores like Ikea, or online shopping on Amazon, can save you a lot of money you might spend at fancier stores. I have had the same bedroom set for as long as I can remember, so I can’t wait to see my room with something new and shiny! On my list of requirements are a king-sized bed, neutral base colors (think taupe and white), and a pop of a bright accent color (thanks for the inspo, Pinterest!). This is a project that has been on my list for a long time, and I think Spring is the perfect time for a fresh, new look.

These are just a few of the home projects that I am tackling this spring and summer! I want to know – what do you need to do in your home? Let me know in the comments below!
